The Foundation.
Inspired by the potential to share healthy and sustainable building practices, River Bend Sanctuary evolved from a personal haven into a luxury retreat space. Here, we not only offer a vacation rental experience but also educate and inspire our guests on alternative, natural, healthy and sustainable construction and landscaping methods. It became not just a retreat from the world but a hub for rejuvenation and learning, hosting retreats and offering a farm stay on the lower terrace to teach permaculture practices.

From the outset, our commitment was to source building materials locally, supporting our community’s craftsmen and reducing our carbon footprint. The sanctuary doubles as a gallery, showcasing local art and products from artisans and holistic purveyors like Miles Garret’s natural wines and Peggy Loudon’s pottery, among others. Each element and partnership at River Bend is chosen with care, reflecting our dedication to community support and ecological stewardship.
